Millennials Programme

The misrepresentation and misunderstanding notion that Millennials have no loyalty to employers, are feedback-hungry and are a high expectations generation, denies the opportunity for organisations to fully utilise the ambition, expertise and skills for this young generation.

To fully benefit, organisations must harness the talent and loyalty of this generation. Fight for good teams makes it critical in the next 10 to 15 years’ time as many of these Millennials ascend to leadership positions.Various organisations have estimated that Millennials will make up 75% of the global workforce by 2025. Organisations must priority leadership development of Millennials.

AWFP appreciates that Millennials represent an increasing share of the workforce and a number already occupy senior positions meaning that they are no longer leaders of tomorrow, but already leaders of today. They occupy board rooms, and their voices, contribution, expertise and skills become incredibly crucial to organisations to ensure that there is no loss of skills and experience that could leave a significant skills gaps as existing generation retire.

AWFP Millennial Programme aims to work with both Millennials and organisations to:
Encourage organisations to invest in coaching and mentoring of Millennial leaders.
Create mentoring programs that partner Millennial leaders with senior leaders
Support & Train young women coming into the workforce
Leadership development
If your organisation would like to partner with AWFP or to sign up Millennials to this programme, please get in touch with us.

Objectives of AWFP Mentorship Programme

When thinking about issues of representation, especially in Banking, FinTech and Payments, one can’t help but notice how the industry continuously overlooks women for executive opportunities. More action is needed to create a pipeline of women for the future of this industry.

AWFP appreciates the many contributions made by women, and also hopes to do more to encourage more women to pursue careers in predominantly male-dominated fields like Banking, FinTech and Payments.

Diverse Female Role Models are one of the most powerful things, particularly for people coming into a career, seeing that people like them can succeed can act as real inspiration.

One of AWFP’s mission is to inspire and empower women in the cards & payments industry to maximise their potential and position themselves for greater personal success. AWFP helps create more visibility for women working in fintech by creating a platform that allows women to mentor all young women crossing their paths. By doing so, young women know that they can find support needed should they want to work in the industry.
